While the cause and the effect of the climate change are debatable, at the very least logic would say that nothing on this earth will last forever if it kept being used or taken away even bit by bit. That is also true with regard to the fossil fuel we enjoy so much with the new modern age we are living right now.
However, there are reasons why people are still using fossil fuel and it is not because they are greedy or do not care about the earth.
One of the reasons why the energy alternatives are expensive is because part of the cost is to reimburse the costly research and development that goes into it. When company sell something it doesn’t just calculate its margin today but also taking into account all the millions spends on creating the product.
Type of energy alternatives that has been around and proven for sometimes is solar panels. As with other energy alternatives, it is also suffers the same drawback and will not make a good big centralized power plant.
For a single housing this is actually can be a good solution as in cost saving as well as reducing the burden of the national grid. However, the cost of purchasing and installing solar panels is prohibitively expensive. It could run up to USD 20,000 dollars which is equivalent to 4 years of electricity bills for a medium size homes.
This can be solved by making your own solar panels and a lot of people are doing exactly this or trying to do this. The problem is written instruction does not bode well when dealing with something new like this and this is why homemade energy is different.

Why Is Solar Panels Different That Other Energy Alternatives
Some of these energy alternatives are wonderful while others are good on papers but never materialize. At the moment it is impractical to mass produce many of these solutions. For example a biogas plant which works by capturing methane from waste from either live stock or municipal waste can never match a single 2000 MW coal plant in terms of price per Megawatt as well as reliability factor.
