Thinking about doing the solar power thing and I was wondering if anyone out there has solar power in their homes, could they tell me the pros/cons of it. How much it costs to install, can you install it yourself? And can you be “free” from outrageous electric bills?

there’s someone near me who has 2 big solar panels fitted into there roof,now im not 100% on this but b4 you go any further i’d check with your local council to see if you need planning permission.
