IntaSol Valve from IntaEco
Solar heating systems have just been made more practical and cost effective with a revolutionary whole-house control valve from IntaEco, the IntaSol. The valve allows a solar heating system to be added alongside an existing combi or instant water heating system without the need to install a new boiler. Intasol is a patented design solar hot water diverter valve which intelligently chooses the water source, to deliver hot water at safe temperatures, using the minimum amount of energy. On a sunny day, when stored solar hot water is hot enough, the valve supplies solar heated water straight to the outlet, blending it, if necessary, with cold water to make the temperature safe. On duller days, IntaSol takes warm, solar heated water and passes it through the combi boiler or instant hot water system, again blending it before delivering it at just the right temperature to the outlet. The right temperature control at outlet is important in solar systems because solar operating temperatures can be as high as 100°C. It is vital that the right type of valve is used; a standard fit thermostatic mixing valve doesnt have such a high temperature operating range, so would have a high risk of failure in a solar installation. Before IntaSol there were two ways of incorporating solar into an existing combi boiler systems, either rip out the boiler and install a new one, or by the installation of complicated plumbing and various electrical control valves in addition to individual …
