We are trying to find an eco-friendly way to do a community Christmas tree, and we are thinking of doing solar powered Christmas tree lights, but I’m wondering if you can string several strands of lights together or if each set of lights has its own solar panel. Any advice for lighting a 15 ft. Christmas tree in the middle of a town center without using electricity?

If you purchase lights that are specifically solar powered, the energy created by each unit is likely only enough to run the individual strand of lights. However, you could use regular outdoor christmas lights with a small-ish solar panel with inverter to convert the energy for all of the lights.
